How to repair your latex pieces: a practical guide!

Latex is a fascinating and demanding material, and it can sometimes deteriorate over time. In my new YouTube video, I share practical tips for repairing your latex pieces and giving them a new lease on life.

Why repair latex?

Latex, like all materials, can tear or become damaged. Don’t panic! There are simple solutions to repair your pieces and continue wearing them worry-free. Whether it’s a small tear or a snag, it’s possible to solve everyday problems.

 

Equipment required:

  • a cleaner for exemple white spirit 
  • latex glue

  • small roller
  • gloves

  • talcum powder
  • a piece of latex in matching color if the latex is torn

Useful equipment:

  • self-healing cutting mat
  • rotary cutter
  • glue applicator
  • scotch
  • large brush for talcum powder
  • paper/scissors/pen

Steps to repair a latex garment:

  1. Prepare the garment: Before starting the repair, thoroughly clean the damaged area with white spirit.
  2. Apply the glue: Apply special latex glue to both sides.
  3. Let it dry for a few moments.
  4. Press the seam with a small roller.

Additional tips:

Regular care is key to keeping your latex garments in excellent condition. Do not expose them to excessive heat sources and store them in a dry place away from direct light. You can also clean them with specific products to preserve their shine.
